I've got some catching UP to do...
Probably will have to wait until Sunday, when everyone else will be watching the game, although I may opt for that fifth season of Alias DVD that I haven't gotten around to watching yet (closing ears to any random comments about what happened; I deliberately did NOT watch commercials or read anything related to the show and, by now, it's "gone" enough that nobody's talking about it).
Been a rough couple of weeks, though. Long story; certainly not for publication here, but things have calmed down a little bit since then.
The fun thing is that I did get to have breakfast with Len Sweet last Saturday morning, even if I wasn't really awake enough to enjoy it. Reading his latest, which he told me he would rather have titled "Jehovah Java: The Gospel According to St. Arbucks." Clever.
Big chili cookoff at church on Sunday. We have 21 entries in this thing. I couldn't believe it. Last year, we had like 9 and I took third place in the judging. This year, I have a secret weapon, but I'm not altogether sure exactly how it'll play in Peoria, as they say (and, no, it doesn't involve pasta, Julie....that stuff you guys call chili up there...it's SPAGHETTI)...
Although, when I was in seminary in Kentucky, my famous Texas chili recipe lost to some swill that was basically spaghetti, ground beef, and ketchup. Makes you wonder.
I'll write more later. I've been getting my Feed Demon subscriptions and noticed that everyone else has posted like 50 times since I last read the thing. The big ones just had to go in the "mark as read" category. Wonkette, CNN, Instapundit, BoingBoing...they all had like 200 (which I think is the max for my reader)...how DO you people find the time?
I think I must watch too much TV...;)
